Some of the Democrats are Organized for the 11th District

Some of the Democrats are organized (or getting organized) below the beltway.  It looks like Gerry has got a campaign committee up and together this month.

It is no big surprise that Byrne has a treasurer handling all her finances now.(I mean – she was a congresswoman at one point so she has political existing networks and contacts to work with, or at least one would think).

Polling as seen over at NLS is being done very early and it shows Byrne up in the lead with 39% against Gerry and others are lagging behind just putting their websites together now.  I have no idea if these are accurate or not and I would have guessed that Byrne would be even higher.  If no other candidates are really registering, I bet the camps that are organized will soak up the staff and support of the lower tier candidates awful quick once their money runs dry and they realize that running for Congress is a much more serious challenge than some may anticipate.

My question is: who is gearing up on the Republican side?  Do any of these guys even have campaign managers yet?  The Democrats look to be organized and ready to go in the coming months, while the Republicans take it nice and slow.  I wonder if Davis is holding off on his announcement until some of the major GOP candidates get their act together.  They can’t very well speak intelligently to the press or create coalitions until they get their guys at the top.  We’ll see sooner or later I suppose. And, you really can’t get your opponents endorsement in the primary if you don’t have organization or movement (the other guy needs some kind of reason to back you once they get out).
